So the axles and suspension is done. Went with a four link in the rear and kept the radius arms up front. Used extended radius arms up front and 5.5″ coils springs. Going with a rock ram and rock crusher tie rods for steering setup. Next up….the engine.
Decided on the axles. Rear will be a dana 60 with arb air locker. Front will be a hybrid… high pinion 9″ center with dana 60 knuckles and arb air locker. Still working out the details of the suspension. Bought a book on suspension geometry and am going to do some reading.
Started a new project - a 77 that’s pretty rough. some rust in floor, doors, needs fenders. This one is going to be a rock crawler. In the process of tearing it down, saving what usable and trashing whats not. Need to come up with a plan for the build. Thinking about new axles, 42″ tires, minimum of lift, four link rear, three link up front, ram assist steering, new motor, auto tranny, atlas t-case.
I love broncos. Early broncos, that is. I will talk for hours about broncos. My kids love broncos. Heck even my wife likes broncos. I have 14 of them, but would like more. I am always looking for “new” old ones. Just call me Bronco Marc.
